Rodrygo Goes is set to miss several important Real Madrid matches after suffering a late injury against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday. Diagnosed with a muscle injury to his right biceps femoris, the 23-year-old striker is leaving his team-mates in the lurch at a difficult time.
Carlo Ancelotti has lost one of his key attacking players at the worst time of the season. Back from the FIFA international break in October with Brazil, Rodrygo Goes was playing an important game against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday. Poison for the Borussia defence, especially in the second half, the Madrid star, who left Nuri Sahin with a bad memory, injured the back of his right thigh. Indeed, after an important run to save the ball that led to Real Madrid’s third goal, scored by Lucas Vazquez, the striker felt a pain.
Important matches without Goes

Tested by Real Madrid’s doctors on Wednesday, Rodrygo Goes has been ruled out of the Clasico. While this is bad news for Carlo Ancelotti, who subsequently lost Thibaut Courtois to injury, the Brazilian striker’s problem means he will miss some big games. According to AS, the 23-year-old will be out until the next FIFA international break in November. We’re talking about an absence of 15 to 20 days.
So, in addition to the Clasico against Barcelona on Saturday, Rodrygo Goes will miss the important match against Valencia in La Liga on 2 November, the clash against AC Milan in the Champions League on 5 November and the match against Osasuna on 9 November. Given the youngster’s importance to Madrid’s attack, as demonstrated against Dortmund on Tuesday, this is a major loss.
It should also be noted that Real Madrid will eventually be counting on Brahim Diaz’s return from injury. With a similar profile to Goes, the Moroccan international will bring his speed and percussive ability to the attack formed by Kylian Mbappé and Vinicius Junior.
