After losing out on the 2024 Ballon d’Or to Spain international Rodri, Vinicius Jr could be leaving Spain sooner than expected. Constantly targeted by racism in his homeland, the Auriverde international, who has a contract running until 2027, is the subject of interest from several major European clubs, including PSG.
Last summer, Vinícius Jr signed a relatively short contract extension with Real Madrid. It was a decision orchestrated by the 24-year-old’s entourage, so the power of decision rests with the player himself, who has left the door open. While this contract seals his short-term future with Los Merengues, it does not fully protect the Madrid club from the ambitions of other teams ready to try their utmost to attract the Brazilian star.
Already last summer, the Saudi Arabian league tried its luck. Vinicius’s future at the Spanish club was shaken by a tempting financial offer. There was talk of an offer of €200 million. But the player insisted on remaining loyal to Real Madrid, although the threat of such offers still hangs over the club from the Spanish capital.

Vinicius, the Premier League, Ligue 1 and Saudi Arabia on the lookout
English clubs such as Chelsea and Manchester United are keeping a close eye on Vinícius Jr’s situation. The Premier League, the most economically powerful in Europe, is following the situation of the Brazilian star in Madrid with great interest. According to Relevo, Real Madrid’s No7 is of particular interest to the historic English clubs.
However, the Premier League is not alone in this ambition. Paris Saint-Germain, also faced with the departure of Kylian Mbappé to Real Madrid, see Vinícius as an attractive alternative. Ironically, Vinícius could well replace his team-mate Mbappé. A possible revenge, in bad taste, for the club from the Spanish capital.
Despite interest from Chelsea, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain, Vinicius Jr is still on Saudi Arabia’s radar. But these clubs need to give Florentino Perez a good reason to sell his jewel. For the time being, Real Madrid are still counting on their star, who is determined to prove ten times over to the racists and those who did not want to see him win the adidas Ballon d’or.

Vinicius Jr mistreated in Spain?
Vinícius’s situation in Spain isn’t much better. Firstly, he has been affected by acts of racism, and secondly by increasingly strained relations with the refereeing body, which have fuelled a feeling of injustice. To top it all off, he had to endure the disappointment of missing out on the Ballon d’Or, won this year by the country’s midfielder, Rodri.
As a result, wealthy Saudi Arabia and giants such as Manchester United and Chelsea pose serious threats to Real Madrid. And Vinícius, even though he says he is attached to Los Merengues, may one day find these tempting offers too good to resist.
The question remains: can Real Madrid keep Vinícius Jr. until 2027? A big test for a Spanish club that must find a balance between the ambition to keep its Brazilian treasure and the realities of a market full of temptations and powerful competitors.
