With rumours circulating that Casemiro could return to Real Madrid, White House President Florentino Perez has come out of his silence to clarify the future of Aurelien Tchouameni, whose future is reportedly directly linked to that of the Auriverde legend, now at Manchester United.
Despite the departure of Erik ten Hag and the arrival of Rúben Amorim on the Manchester United bench, the Red Devils still seem to be mired in a series of internal problems. One of the most talked-about issues in recent days concerns Casemiro, who has come under fire in England. The Brazilian midfielder has been linked with a move away, with rumours of a possible return to Real Madrid.
Indeed, Manchester United’s Portuguese coach Rúben Amorim, known for his innovative ideas and outspokenness, has taken a stance on Casemiro’s role in his squad. His comments, which are both complimentary and critical, have fuelled much of the debate surrounding the player. ‘I tend to have disagreements with my university colleagues, because everyone loves Casemiro and other players like him. For this position, I prefer players with more intelligence than speed to win the ball back and aggression,’ said Amorim.

On the White House side, the recent physical problems of certain midfield players, such as Eduardo Camavinga and Dani Ceballos, have prompted some observers to consider a return for Casemiro. The Auriverde left the club in 2022 after making history with five Champions League titles to his name. But such a move remains highly unlikely, for both sporting and financial reasons. While Real Madrid still value Casemiro’s qualities, the Madrid management are now banking on younger players to build their future, such as Aurélien Tchouaméni.
Florentino Perez decides Tchouaméni is untouchable
The Casemiro rumours have also given rise to speculation about the potential departure of Aurélien Tchouaméni. Some media outlets, particularly the anti-Madridistas, have claimed that Real Madrid could sacrifice the Frenchman to bring back their former mainstay. However, this hypothesis has been firmly denied by the club. In fact, according to internal sources relayed by Defensa Central, Madrid’s directors consider Tchouaméni to be a cornerstone of Real Madrid’s present and future. ‘We would never do something like that,’ Florentino Perez is quoted as saying this week.

Carlo Ancelotti, meanwhile, has always shown confidence in the French midfielder. Under the Italian coach, Tchouaméni has gradually grown in consistency and maturity. He has even become an indispensable part of the Merengue midfield. While the idea of seeing Casemiro back in a white shirt may appeal to nostalgic fans, it does not seem compatible with Real Madrid’s current policy, which is focused on rejuvenating the squad. Despite the apparent tensions at Manchester United, the Brazilian player remains a respected figure and could still help stabilise his current team. For Real Madrid, the plan is clear: to continue to put their faith in their young talent while maintaining a balance between experience and youth. So the rumours of Casemiro’s return are more speculation than real possibility.
