Luka Modric had this to say about one of the club’s young talents. At 39, the Croatian playmaker has the experience and perspective to judge the new generation. In a recent interview, he gave his opinion on Arda Güler, the Turkish nugget who is the talk of the town.
In an exchange with Turkish painter Ersan Kaya, relayed by Ottoman media outlet Nefes, Luka Modric analysed the potential of Arda Güler. The Madrid midfielder did not hesitate to be frank. ‘He’s still very young and has a lot to learn. We’re doing everything we can for him. He’s a very good talent, he’s open to development and his future is very promising,’ said the Madrid captain in no uncertain terms.

The message is clear! Modric underlines the expected progress of the young Turk. Surrounded by managers like himself, Arda Güler has the ideal environment in which to grow and assert himself at the highest level.
A smooth transition at Real Madrid?
In addition to his analysis of Arda Güler, Modric also spoke about Juventus rising star Kenan Yildiz. Impressed by the player’s style and potential, he said: ‘Kenan has a different style and I like him a lot. He’s a talent that has caught my eye and his future is bright.’

With Modric in a mentoring role, Arda Güler could well follow in the footsteps of the great playmakers who came through Madrid. The integration of young talent into the Merengue squad is a gradual process, and the Croatian’s advice will be invaluable to the former Fenerbahçe player’s development.
While his future at Real Madrid remains uncertain, Modric continues to contribute his experience and expertise. One thing is certain: his influence extends far beyond his role on the pitch.
