The situation is critical at Real Madrid. As the team enters a crucial phase of the season, problems continue to pile up for Carlo Ancelotti. On Monday, Marca reported two more concerning cases ahead of the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16 clash against Atlético Madrid.
Panic has set in at Madrid, particularly within Florentino Pérez’s club. While their rivals are enjoying a successful period with players in top form, Carlo Ancelotti’s team is still suffering from the effects of fatigue. As if that were not enough, injuries keep mounting in recent days. Federico Valverde, who has not played in three matches due to an adductor issue, remains sidelined, and Dani Ceballos was ruled out last week for two months. Now, on the eve of the match against Atlético, Marca has raised concerns about two more players.
Concerns over Brahim Díaz and Camavinga?

According to journalist José Félix Díaz, who closely follows Real Madrid, Brahim Díaz was substituted against Betis last Saturday due to discomfort. Similar to Valverde’s case, the club remains tight-lipped about the situation, as the Moroccan international can still play despite the physical issue affecting his performance. Another worrying case is that of Eduardo Camavinga. According to Marca, the French midfielder has been suffering from back pain for several days, making it difficult for him to train and play at his best.
Within the technical staff, concerns are growing due to the increasing number of problems within the squad. Reports suggest that Carlo Ancelotti is struggling to understand his players’ response in the most decisive matches of the league. While he believes his squad has what it takes to give everything in La Liga, the Italian coach is visibly frustrated by some of the team’s recent performances.
After the defeat against Betis, the atmosphere was tense. Completely outplayed by Manuel Pellegrini’s side, which showed more energy and defensive solidity, Real Madrid displayed a worrying lack of confidence ahead of the crucial weeks to come. With players like Arda Güler struggling for form and an ageing defence, Ancelotti appears to be losing his way in his tactical decisions. If, as Marca reports, some key players are not at 100%, the rest of the season could take a turn for the worse.
For now, the showdown against Atlético Madrid on Tuesday in the Champions League will be the real test to determine whether a full-blown crisis is unfolding at the Santiago Bernabéu.
