Having arrived with great fanfare in Madrid not long ago, the two young starlets are struggling to get playing time. Despite their talent, things are complicated, especially with a coach who prioritises established players in his squad.
Arda Güler heading for a loan move
In recent weeks, Arda Güler has been going through a particularly tough period. At 20 years old, the player snatched from FC Barcelona during the summer 2023 transfer window has been unable to fully showcase his talent. Despite his impressive performances in training, the former Fenerbahçe player has not managed to make a difference in matches. Now, he has been left out of the Italian coach’s plans, who also criticises him for his lack of involvement in the team’s defensive work. As a result, Arda Güler is unlikely to play much between now and the end of the season. Given the situation, the Madrid management has reportedly already decided to send him on loan to the Bundesliga next season. This information has emerged from the German press in recent hours.
According to the German newspaper BILD, Arda Güler is, just like Endrick, on the radar of clubs such as RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt. Hoping to take advantage of his good relationship with the management of these teams, Florentino Pérez wants to replicate the development pathway used for players like Dani Carvajal. In the past, young Madrid talents—such as the Spanish right-back (currently injured)—have successfully gained experience in Germany before returning to Madrid.
Florentino Pérez is not worried about Endrick
While young Endrick finds himself in a similar situation, Florentino Pérez has reportedly received feedback from the coaching staff indicating that it is Güler who needs more playing time to reach his best level. With six goals in a short period, Endrick has earned the club’s trust. The priority concern is Arda, as he is blocked by the numerous midfield options. To finalise everything, discussions will take place between the Turkish player’s camp and the Madrid management at the end of the season.
If he manages to establish himself as Nico Paz is currently doing in Serie A with Como, Arda Güler will return to play a key role at Real Madrid in the 2026-2027 season. For now, the 20-year-old is reportedly no longer against the idea of leaving to rebuild his form elsewhere. In any case, it is clear that action needs to be taken to avoid wasting the potential of a player who generated so much excitement upon his arrival in Spain in 2023.
It is worth noting that Endrick’s situation remains much more favourable. As a pure number 9 who consistently scores goals and makes an impact whenever he comes on, the 18-year-old Brazilian international is currently untouchable.
