Ruled out after injury against Getafe on Wednesday night during Matchday 33 of La Liga, Eduardo Camavinga will not play again this season. Following medical tests on Thursday, Real Madrid have revealed the extent of their young midfielder’s injury.
The Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga has been hit by what feels like a real curse. On Wednesday, during a hard-fought win against Getafe (0-1, thanks to a goal from Güler), the former Rennes player was forced off the pitch in the 85th minute. Having come on at half-time to replace David Alaba, the young player, who had been performing well, was brought down by Luis Milla in the 85th minute. Despite trying to stay on the pitch — a decision that greatly displeased Carlo Ancelotti — Camavinga could not fight through the pain.
Season over for Camavinga

Having to leave the field and leaving his team down to ten men due to all substitutions already being made, Camavinga — who was expected to start at left-back this Saturday in El Clásico — underwent further tests on Thursday. The result was a bombshell. In an official statement, Real Madrid announced that Camavinga has suffered a complete tear of the left adductor tendon. The verdict is brutal: at least three months out for the 22-year-old, ruling him out for the rest of the season.
As the team prepares to take part for the first time in the expanded Club World Cup with around thirty teams, Camavinga will also miss that competition. While it’s a significant blow for Real Madrid, who are already short of reliable options for big matches, it is devastating news for the player himself, who has been plagued by injuries since the start of the 2024–25 campaign.
Hoping for a stronger return

This latest setback marks his fourth injury of the season. In August, a ligament injury in his knee kept him out for 45 days. In November, he was sidelined again for 15 days, this time with a hamstring issue. In January, another hamstring problem ruled him out for an additional 20 days. In total, Camavinga will have missed 19 matches this season, and the remaining 7 — including the Copa del Rey final — will only add to that tally. This string of injuries raises concerns about the recurrence of his muscular problems, particularly in the hamstrings. His season, marked by persistent bad luck, has now been completely derailed.
It now seems that fans will have to wait until August — the start of the next La Liga season — to see Camavinga back in a Real Madrid shirt.
