Beaten last weekend in La Liga, Real Madrid will face Rayo Vallecano this Sunday at the Santiago Bernabéu for the 27th matchday. For this important match, Carlo Ancelotti has revealed his official lineup with several changes.
After the postponement of the match between Barça and Osasuna due to the death of the Catalan team’s doctor, Real Madrid has the chance to temporarily close the gap to first place in the standings. From 15:15 GMT, Carlo Ancelotti and his men will face Rayo Vallecano, currently seventh, at the Santiago Bernabéu. For this 27th matchday of La Liga, the coaching staff will be without Dani Ceballos, injured and out for several weeks, Antonio Rüdiger, ill, and Thibaut Courtois, slightly injured at the right knee.
Carlo Ancelotti’s tactical choices
In the absence of Courtois, Andriy Lunin will take his place in goal this Sunday. To assist the Ukrainian keeper in his mission to keep a clean sheet, Carlo Ancelotti has paired Raúl Asensio with David Alaba at centre-back. On the flanks, Fran García will occupy the left side against his former club, where he played between 2021 and 2023, as he did in the first leg. Finally, in attack, the usual trio of Vinícius, Rodrygo Goes, and Kylian Mbappé will complete the starting eleven selected by Carlo Ancelotti. Thus, in their usual 4-3-3 formation, Real Madrid will look to get back to winning ways against a Vallecano team that has secured three draws in recent encounters against the White House.
