Cristiano Ronaldo continues to shine. With a brace against Damac on Friday evening for Al Nassr, the Real Madrid legend confirmed that he remains a formidable goalscorer, on course to reach the historic milestone of 1,000 career goals. In fact, he took to the stage to get the ball rolling.
Like wine, Cristiano Ronaldo (39) is getting better! The Real Madrid legend proved once again that he has lost none of his flair. In the 2-0 win over Damac on Friday evening on Matchday 12 of the Saudi league, the Portuguese striker scored both goals, confirming his role as Al-Nassr’s attacking leader, just as he was at Real Madrid between 2009 and 2018.

The first goal came from a perfectly executed penalty in the first half, where Ronaldo showed all his calm and precision. The second, late in the game, was the result of an excellent link-up with team-mate Nawaf Boushal, author of a precise decisive pass.
With these two goals, Cristiano Ronaldo takes his total to 20 goals in all competitions this season, including 13 in the league. This impressive performance, at an age when most footballers have already retired, shows the incredible longevity of Real Madrid’s best-ever player.
The ambition of 1,000 goals, Ronaldo tells his fans
Cristiano Ronaldo has already scored 915 goals in his professional career. This feat, which places him in a very select circle of the best goalscorers in history, is now fuelling an even greater ambition : to reach the mythical milestone of 1,000 career goals. The Real Madrid legend has never concealed his desire to set this record. “I’ve said publicly that I want to reach 1,000 goals and that now gives the impression that I only want to reach 1,000 goals. My objective is to live in the moment and see how my legs react,” said Cristiano Ronaldo.

At Real Madrid, he scored 451 goals in 438 games and remains the club’s all-time top scorer. His time at Juventus yielded 101 goals in 134 games, while he scored 145 times in two spells with Manchester United. He also scored 135 goals for Portugal, a world record. Reaching 1,000 goals would be the ultimate accolade for a player who has already won everything: the Ballon d’Or, the Champions League, national championships and international competitions.
To reach this symbolic milestone, he would have to score another 85 goals, a challenge that might seem insurmountable for any 39-year-old player. But for Ronaldo, known for his unwavering discipline and steely resolve, it seems an achievable goal. Since joining Al-Nassr in January 2023, Cristiano Ronaldo has established himself as one of the best players in the Saudi Pro League.
