Salary: Vini no longer wants to earn less than Alaba

According to sources close to the club’s board, Vinícius Júnior has made just one request: to earn as much as Kylian Mbappé. Now fully aware of his global status, the Brazilian international struggles to understand why he should earn less than David Alaba, for instance. According to recent reports on Real Madrid’s highest earners, the Austrian defender receives €23 million per year, while Vini earns €21 million.

At 32 years old and now overtaken by Raúl Asensio in the hierarchy of the squad’s best centre-backs, David Alaba is no longer delivering performances that justify his salary. Naturally, it makes sense for Vinícius Júnior to demand a higher wage and move closer to the €33 million that Mbappé, the squad’s top earner, takes home annually.
