The clash of La Liga’s Matchday 23 between Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid ended without a winner. After 90 minutes and a fierce derby battle, the two biggest teams in the Spanish capital shared the spoils with a 1-1 draw, just like in the first leg. Following Julián Álvarez’s penalty goal in the 35th minute, Kylian Mbappé responded perfectly in the 50th.
Real Madrid player ratings
Thibaut Courtois (5.5)

The Merengues’ goalkeeper didn’t have too much work to do. Despite the high stakes, Courtois had a relatively quiet evening, as his defenders handled most of the workload. He couldn’t work miracles on the conceded penalty, but given the difficulty of the task, it’s hard to blame the Belgian shot-stopper.
Fran García (6.5)
Starting in place of Ferland Mendy, Fran García put in a solid performance. More involved in the attacking phase, the Spanish left-back made several key interceptions, including a crucial one in the 63rd minute. In terms of intensity, García was at full throttle. A commendable performance.
Aurélien Tchouaméni (6.5)
Deployed in defence due to Rüdiger’s absence, the French midfielder delivered an acceptable performance. Apart from the questionable foul leading to the penalty against him, Tchouaméni was solid against the Colchoneros. In the second half, he positioned himself well, making several crucial interceptions in the penalty area. Overall, a decent outing for the midfielder in a defensive role.
Raúl Asensio (7)

What a player! The only natural centre-back in the lineup, Raúl Asensio had a solid game. Since the start of the season, the 21-year-old defender has produced impressive performances, including some key interventions early in this match. With Rüdiger absent, he was the standout defensive player of the night.
Lucas Vázquez (6)
Captain for the night, Vázquez didn’t disappoint. Against an offensively dangerous side, the 33-year-old Spanish right-back gave his best. Though he lacked a decisive impact in attack, he put in a solid defensive shift.
Dani Ceballos (6)
A good match for the Spanish midfielder. Now a key figure in Madrid’s midfield, Dani Ceballos caused the Colchoneros plenty of problems with his play. Until he was substituted in the 80th minute, he had a very solid outing.
Federico Valverde (6)
A decent performance from the Uruguayan midfielder. Ancelotti’s all-purpose player contributed significantly with his relentless runs. His tireless work rate helped Madrid battle for midfield control.
Jude Bellingham (7)
Another high-level performance from Bellingham. As consistent as ever in midfield, the Englishman put in a commanding display. Defensively, he was diligent in tracking back, and offensively, he made two key attacking contributions, including one that struck the crossbar in the second half. Simply brilliant.
Rodrygo Goes (6.5)
A good game from the Brazilian forward. A crucial figure in Ancelotti’s attacking setup, Rodrygo troubled the Colchoneros’ defence with his pace and dribbling down the right wing. He played a vital role in Mbappé’s equaliser. A solid performance from the Brazilian international.
Vinícius Júnior (6.5)
Yes, this was a good Vinícius. Amid recent controversies, the Brazilian winger displayed great determination on the pitch. Despite the tension, he remained composed and focused on his game, contributing significantly to the attack with his speed and dribbling.
Kylian Mbappé (7)

The saviour of the Merengues. A key figure in Madrid’s attack, the French striker showed tremendous desire. Like a true poacher, he found the equaliser at a crucial moment for Real Madrid. As a forward, he delivered exactly what was expected of him.
