Having struggled for several months now, Kylian Mbappé is starting to cause serious concern. Carlo Ancelotti made it clear in a press conference on Friday what decision he is considering taking.
Since arriving at Real Madrid, Kylian Mbappe has struggled to establish himself. Despite being known for his ability to score a lot of goals, the French striker has looked very different since the start of the season.
Kylian Mbappé’s difficulties have multiplied since Vinicius Jr’s injury, and in the absence of the Auriverde winger, Real Madrid have already lost two out of three matches. This has led to criticism of a mute Kylian Mbappe, especially after his two missed penalties.

The last straw was the unexpected 2-1 defeat at San Mamès on Wednesday, when Mbappe missed another important penalty. According to Marca, Carlo Ancelotti’s dressing room is already divided, with one side no longer keen to see the former Parisian take penalties.
Ancelotti does not rule out benching Mbappé
Speaking to the press on Friday ahead of his side’s trip to Girona, Carlo Ancelotti did not escape questions about Kylian Mbappe. The Transalpine coach suggested that the French striker himself is aware that he is not doing the job. And even if he renews his faith in him, Don Carlo is not ruling out benching Kylian Mbappe in the near future.
In any case, he believes that he has already planned to rest certain stars due to the heavy fixture list. Real Madrid will soon be playing in the Club World Cup and will need Kylian Mbappé in full possession.

“Mbappé is aware of the situation because he spoke out after the match. We’re with him. He’s aware that he’s not giving his best performance. Should he get more or less game time? You have to assess everything. I think he’s improved in terms of intensity and speed. That doesn’t mean he has to play every game. After that, sometimes a rest can do you good,” suggested Carlo Ancelotti.
