Club World Cup 2025 Draw: Real Madrid’s group with a tough opponent (Official)

The Club World Cup 2025, launched by FIFA, is officially entering its serious phase. Despite the criticism, the draw for this new competition took place this Thursday in Miami. Real Madrid now knows its three group-stage opponents.

The United States will host the inaugural edition of the Club World Cup, featuring 32 teams, from 15 June to 13 July 2025. Following the format change approved by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) a few months ago, criticism regarding the congested schedule and the immense workload for players has not derailed the project. For this first edition, which will be held at the end of the domestic seasons, top teams such as PSG, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, and, of course, Real Madrid will participate.

Real Madrid’s opponents

Placed in Group H, Carlo Ancelotti’s side has been drawn against manageable opponents. Secured from facing major powerhouses due to its position in Pot 1, reserved for tournament favourites, the Madridistas will face Austria’s RB Salzburg, Mexico’s Pachuca, and Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal, which features stars like Neymar Junior, Yassine Bounou, Mitrović, and Malcom. Although the draw appears favourable for Real Madrid, caution is advised, particularly against the Saudi team.

It is worth noting that the tournament, set to begin next June, aims to provide greater financial rewards for clubs. With a focus on offering more entertainment for football fans, FIFA, under Gianni Infantino, plans to allocate significant financial incentives to participants.
