Real Madrid are set to face Real Sociedad in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final in just a few moments. As the match approaches, Carlo Ancelotti has revealed the official line-up of the Madrid squad.

Following Tuesday night’s thrilling 4-4 draw between FC Barcelona and Atlético Madrid in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-finals, Real Sociedad and Real Madrid will battle it out in the second semi-final this Wednesday. Without Kylian Mbappé, Thibaut Courtois, and Federico Valverde, Carlo Ancelotti will rely on other key players. Unlike the round of 16 and the quarter-finals, where many young players gained valuable minutes, the coaching staff is opting for a more experienced line-up in this semi-final at Anoeta. With the second leg set for 1st April, Real Madrid’s goal is to gain the upper hand on the scoreboard.

To achieve this, Carlo Ancelotti has set up his team in a 4-3-3 formation, with Andriy Lunin in goal. In central defence, Fran García takes the left flank, while Raúl Asensio occupies the right. The 21-year-old, who is capable of playing outside his usual central defensive role, replaces Lucas Vázquez, who starts on the bench. In the heart of the defence, Antonio Rüdiger is partnered with Aurélien Tchouaméni. Despite David Alaba being available, the French midfielder will once again play as a centre-back against Sociedad.

In midfield, Eduardo Camavinga will operate as a number 6, tasked with providing defensive support. Returning from a two-match suspension, Jude Bellingham is set to play the first leg of this crucial tie. Completing the midfield trio is Dani Ceballos. Finally, in attack, Vinicius Junior, Arda Güler, and Endrick will lead the charge for Real Madrid.
