In a press conference ahead of the 18th matchday of La Liga against FC Sevilla this Sunday, Carlo Ancelotti discussed what he regrets about his bad memories from 2024.
Real Madrid will play their final match of 2024 this Sunday at the Santiago Bernabéu. Ancelotti doesn’t forget the defeat against Barça

Speaking candidly, the former Bayern Munich and PSG coach revealed that winning the Champions League remains his happiest memory of the year. “The happiest moment of 2024? I don’t know, there have been many. It’s been a fantastic year, maybe unique. Perhaps the Champions League was the happiest, it always is.“
According to Ancelotti, 2024 remains an exceptional year given the challenges faced, especially as the team came through with five titles. When asked about his worst memory of the year, the Madrid coach simply mentioned the collapse against Barça at the Santiago Bernabéu on 26th October. “The worst moment? Losing to Barcelona at the Bernabéu,” he murmured. It must be said that the defeat to their Catalan rivals left a very bitter taste for the Merengues.
Opportunities for revenge in 2025
After an interesting first half where Kylian Mbappé nearly scored twice, the Madrid players faltered in the second half with defensive errors from Ferland Mendy and Lucas Vázquez, which allowed the Catalans to score four goals at the Santiago Bernabéu.
