Jude Bellingham will be fit to face Sevilla at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday in the 18th round of La Liga matches. After feeling a slight discomfort during the Intercontinental Cup final against Pachuca, the Englishman has reassured fans and Carlo Ancelotti that there is no injury to report.
Bellingham’s current season is reminiscent of the highlights of his early days at Real Madrid. With 21 games, seven goals and six assists to his name, the English midfielder has once again become a key component of Carlo Ancelotti’s team. These figures confirm his importance, not least thanks to an impressive run of five consecutive league games in which he has found the back of the net.
Back in top form, Jude Bellingham’s recent performances, such as his equaliser against Rayo Vallecano and his decisive goal against Atalanta, show that he is back to his best. The former Borussia Dortmund star is not just playing, he is making a difference.

Positioned in a slightly different role this season, Bellingham has adapted perfectly to Carlo Ancelotti’s demands, always at the apex of the midfield diamond, combining intense physicality with incisive vision. This new role has enabled him to rediscover his goalscoring instinct and be decisive at key moments. With the arrival of Kylian Mbappé and the confirmation of Vinícius Jr, the coordination between these three stars could well create sparks in the second half of the season.
Bellingham, the fear quickly dispelled
Real Madrid fans can rest easy: Jude Bellingham will be at the Santiago Bernabéu this Sunday to face Sevilla in the 18ᵉ La Liga matchday. After feeling a slight physical discomfort during the Intercontinental Cup final against Pachuca, won by Los Merengues (3-0), there were concerns about his availability.
But the young English midfielder quickly reassured the club and fans that no injury had been detected. This is excellent news for Carlo Ancelotti, who is counting on his playmaker to help Real Madrid take the lead in the league. Since arriving from Borussia Dortmund in the summer, Jude Bellingham has established himself as a key member of the Madrid squad.
With some spectacular performances, he has quickly become a fans’ favourite thanks to his ability to create chances, score decisive goals and dictate the tempo of the game in midfield. His absence would have been a blow, especially against a Sevilla team.

Real Madrid’s preparations for Sevilla in full swing
Bellingham trained more conservatively with Courtois, Vinícius, Mbappé and Valverde at the Valdebebas facilities ahead of their clash with Sevilla. Real Madrid are making no secret of their ambitions this season, but finding consistency remains a challenge. With Bellingham at the helm and a team bolstered by the talents of Vinícius, Mbappé and other key players, Madrid seem better equipped to meet that challenge.
At a press conference on Saturday, Carlo Ancelotti spoke of the connection between Vini Jr, Rodrygo, Bellingham and Mbappé. ‘They haven’t played much together because Rodrygo or Bellingham have sometimes been injured. But from what I’ve seen, they combine and adapt very well to each other’s characteristics. Sometimes Mbappé played on the left, sometimes Vini played inside and sometimes Bellingham played on the left. I’m not going to impose a position on all four of them, I’m going to give them the freedom to find the right position,’ said the Transalpine coach.
One thing is certain: for Jude Bellingham, this Sunday represents an opportunity to end 2024 on a positive note and continue to justify his status as a key player.
