Real Madrid ended the year on a high with an important 4-2 victory over Sevilla. In a masterful game, Kylian Mbappé, Fede Valverde, Rodrygo Goes and Brahim Díaz shone, scoring the goals of the night. However, not everything was perfect: while some dazzled the Bernabeu, others, like Aurélien Tchouaméni, disappointed. Read on to find out the scores and analyses of the Madrid players’ performances in the final match of the year.
Thibaut Courtois: 7
On a relatively quiet afternoon, Thibaut Courtois didn’t have much to do against a Sevilla side that wasn’t very dangerous. However, as usual, the Belgian goalkeeper was there when it mattered. He was alert to the rare attempts on target and directed his defence well. Although he could not be blamed for Isaac’s goal, Courtois played a quiet leadership role in stabilising Madrid’s rearguard.

Edouardo Camavinga: 7
Playing on the left of defence for the first time this season, Camavinga once again demonstrated his versatility. Defensively, he was solid in his duels, showed a good reading of the game and an ability to intervene with authority. Offensively, he never hesitated to get forward and create more space. However, his share of the responsibility for Isaac’s goal, where his positioning could have been better, slightly tarnished a generally satisfactory performance.
Aurélien Tchouaméni: 5
Positioned in central defence, Tchouaméni continued to struggle to adapt to the role. His lack of cutting edge and hesitant decision-making cost him dearly when Isaac scored. Although his positioning was sometimes judicious, he lacked the serenity expected of a central defender. This repositioning, far removed from his usual responsibilities in midfield, highlights his limitations in this role.
Antonio Rüdiger: 6
Lining up alongside Aurélien Tchouaméni in central defence, Antonio Rüdiger showed signs of restlessness. Although his physical strength and determination were evident, his understanding with Tchouaméni left something to be desired, which led to a few defensive lapses. In the second half, several of his interventions lacked precision, exposing the team to dangerous situations. Fortunately, the rest of the Madrid rearguard, led by Courtois, was able to compensate for his errors. Rüdiger will need to rediscover the solidity expected of him if he is to avoid any repetition of these lapses.
Lucas Vázquez: 7
Captain for the night, Lucas Vázquez delivered a performance full of energy and determination. Defensively, he covered his flank well and was reliable in his interventions. Offensively, he contributed to Madrid’s success with an assist for Rodrygo Goes’ superb goal. His partnership with Mbappé could even have led to a brace for the Frenchman. A positive performance overall, with a good balance between the two phases of the game.
Fede Valverde: 8.5
Another outstanding performance from Valverde, who was omnipresent in midfield. The Uruguayan dictated the tempo, making numerous runs, recovering possession and breaking through the opposition lines. His goal, a real gem, illustrates his ability to score spectacular goals at the most important moments. In addition to his impressive volume of play, Valverde demonstrated once again that he is a key component of Ancelotti’s system.

Dani Ceballos: 7
Although slightly overshadowed by the performances of Valverde and Bellingham, Dani Ceballos was one of the key men in the construction of Madrid’s game. His ability to read the game and make accurate passes enabled Real to control the midfield. He was invaluable in phases of possession, smoothing the transition between defence and attack. An intelligent and effective performance.
Jude Bellingham: 7.5
Back to his best, Jude Bellingham was once again a key figure in midfield. Always available to receive the ball, he excelled in the role of relay between the lines, alternating short play and long openings with precision. His ability to project himself forward caused problems for the Sevilla defence, and he came close to scoring in several situations. A solid and promising performance.
Brahim Díaz: 7
Although not spectacular, Brahim Díaz made a useful contribution up front. His dribbling and ability to provoke created space for his team-mates, particularly in the move that led to Rodrygo Goes’ goal. However, he lacked the finishing touch that would have allowed him to have a greater impact on the match. But in the second half, the Moroccan found the back of the net thanks to a sublime decisive pass from Kylian Mbappé. A decent performance, but with room for improvement.

Rodrygo Goes: 8
In sparkling form, Rodrygo Goes once again showed the full extent of his talent. Repositioned on the left flank, he was a constant menace to the Sevilla defence. After providing the decisive pass for Mbappé early on, he also scored a magnificent goal to reward a complete performance. His new-found confidence is reflected in his growing influence on Real Madrid’s play.

Kylian Mbappé: 8
Back from injury, Mbappé was quick to remind us why he is one of the best strikers in the world. Right from the start, he scored a superb goal from Rodrygo’s pass, showing clinical precision. He could have doubled his tally on a number of occasions, but a touch of bad luck and interference from the opposition prevented him from doing so. In addition to his goal, he constantly put pressure on the Sevilla defence, and even provided a fine assist to Brahim Diaz to make it 4-1.
