Vinicius Jr’s future at Real Madrid has recently been the subject of speculation. A colossal offer from Saudi Arabia sowed doubt. But this Sunday, the Spanish press announced some excellent news for fans of the Casa Blanca club.
Last summer, an extraordinary contract offer was made to Vinicius Jr. Saudi Arabia, keen to attract top talent, offered him a five-year contract. The annual salary was an astronomical €200 million. The proposal was designed to convince the Auriverde star to leave Real Madrid.

Vinicius, who is tied to the club until 2027, seemed interested in the possibility. He even authorised the Saudi Arabian investment fund (PIF) to contact Real Madrid. The aim was to begin talks on a possible transfer. Real Madrid quickly rejected the Saudi offer. The club pointed out that Vinicius had a €1 billion release clause. Despite this rejection, Saudi Arabia has not said its last word. It was expected to come back with an even bigger offer.
The trend reverses, with an extension in sight for Vinicius Jr
The situation took a new turn on Sunday. Spanish media outlet AS revealed that a contract extension for Vinicius Jr at Real Madrid is well under way. The Brazilian player is now a key figure at the club. He enjoys the full confidence of the management. According to the tabloid, Real Madrid could offer him a contract similar to, or even better than, that of Kylian Mbappé. Such an extension would put an end to rumours of a move to Saudi Arabia.

Vinicius Jr is set to stay at Real Madrid. The Brazilian winger has to choose between a lucrative contract in Saudi Arabia and an extension in Madrid. Real Madrid seem to have taken the lead, as the club is prepared to do anything to keep its young talent. A contract extension would send out a strong signal and show just how important Vinicius is to the Madrid project. Stay tuned!
