(…) They improved my contract and paid me much more compared to Madrid, where we were paid every six months. They paid very well. I earned just under five million euros gross,” he initially stated on the podcast.

Later, the former Spanish international, who now plays in Malaysia at 31, completely vented about Nasser Al-Khelaifi, one of the most criticised sports directors in the world. “The PSG president didn’t even want to see me anymore. I don’t know if he liked my wife more than me. They gave me no explanation. They treated me very badly. That’s when I realised that Madrid is the best in the world at everything. I felt like I was dealing with a billionaire who treats players as if they were pawns.“
