French forward Kylian Mbappé has joined the Real Madrid injury list. Sidelined with a thigh issue sustained last Tuesday against Atalanta in the Champions League, KM9 underwent medical tests on Thursday… The results are grim.
While Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes have only just returned from the injury list, Kylian Mbappé now joins the growing number of injured players at Real Madrid. After suffering a physical setback in late September that caused him to miss October’s international break and led to serious accusations, the French striker has picked up his second injury with the Madrid squad. Once again fielded in the attack against Atalanta Bergamo, a team he enjoys playing against (two goals in two matches over a four-month span), the former PSG star found himself hurt.
Real Madrid’s bad news on Mbappé

After scoring a fine goal against La Dea, Kylian Mbappé had to leave the pitch in the 35th minute due to pain in his left thigh. While Carlo Ancelotti tried to remain optimistic by stating that it was only a minor muscle strain, Real Madrid revealed the results of the medical tests on Thursday. Examined by the club’s medical team on Thursday afternoon, KM9 was “diagnosed with a thigh injury in his left leg,” according to the official statement.
This is bad news for Carlo Ancelotti, who will have to cope without his star forward this Saturday in La Liga against Rayo Vallecano for matchday 17. At this point, the exact length of Mbappé’s absence is unknown. However, according to Spanish media, the forward, who will turn 26 in a few days, is expected to be fit for the Intercontinental Cup final. If the staff decide to take no risks with the player, he might not play again in 2024.
