At home against Real Sociedad this Tuesday, in the second leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final, Real Madrid narrowly secured qualification. After winning the first leg 1-0, Carlo Ancelotti’s team scraped through after a 4-4 draw following extra time.
On April 26, at La Cartuja Stadium in Seville, Real Madrid will play the Copa del Rey final against either FC Barcelona or Atlético Madrid, who will face off this Wednesday. Following their 1-0 first-leg victory, thanks to a goal from Endrick, the Madrid side had to go into extra time to secure qualification. With goals from Endrick (30’), Bellingham (82’), Tchouaméni (86’), and Rüdiger (115’), Ancelotti’s men responded to Imanol Alguacil’s players, who took advantage of Madrid’s defensive lapses and David Alaba’s mistakes.

Andriy Lunin: 5/10
A mediocre match for the Ukrainian goalkeeper. Although he was not decisive on Sociedad’s first goal, Lunin made a few key saves. For the other three goals conceded, he cannot be blamed. However, since he did not shine, he does not deserve more than a 5.
Eduardo Camavinga: 6/10
A solid performance from the Frenchman. Deployed at left-back in place of Fran García, Camavinga held his own. While he did not contribute much offensively, the former Rennes player was reliable defensively. Injured in the closing minutes, he was replaced by Fran García.
David Alaba: 3/10
Starting in place of Rüdiger, the Austrian defender completely faltered in the second half. After some decent interventions in the first period, Alaba, who had been having a reasonable game until his own goal in the 72nd minute, completely lost his composure. He was at fault for Sociedad’s third and fourth goals. A disappointing display.
Raúl Asencio: 5/10
The young Spanish defender put in a fair performance. On a night when Madrid’s defence struggled, Asencio battled hard. However, given the number of goals conceded, he must take some responsibility. A rating of 5 seems fair.
Lucas Vázquez: 5/10
An average game for the Spanish right-back. Once again, he was at fault for Sociedad’s opening goal by abandoning his position. He later tried to adjust by attacking less. It is important to note that he is not a natural full-back.
Aurélien Tchouaméni: 7/10
Another strong performance from the French midfielder. Already impressive with his ball recoveries, the former AS Monaco player left his mark on the match with a crucial goal in the 86th minute.
Federico Valverde: 6/10
A good game from the Uruguayan midfielder. Although he did not shine offensively, Valverde was instrumental in ball recovery. He was more active defensively than in attack.
Jude Bellingham: 8/10
What a player! Jude Bellingham continues to be a blessing for Real Madrid. Always full of energy, the English midfielder put in another outstanding performance. Fearless in duels, he won several fouls, created plenty of danger, and most importantly, scored a vital goal in the 82nd minute. A masterclass.
Rodrygo Goes: 6/10
On the attacking front, Rodrygo once again showed flashes of brilliance. With his constant movement, the 24-year-old forward unsettled Sociedad’s defence. His defensive efforts also contributed to the team.
Vinícius Júnior: 7/10
Despite struggling for form in recent weeks, Vinícius delivered a respectable performance. Playing in his preferred position, he produced some spectacular moments, though none led to goals. Nevertheless, his two assists should not be overlooked. In extra time, he was the most dangerous attacker.
Endrick: 8/10
The young Brazilian once again proved that he is Real Madrid’s true number 9. With a stunning sequence, featuring an acrobatic overhead kick and a beautiful goal in the 30th minute, Endrick shone brightly. For a player who does not feature regularly, delivering such a performance is simply exceptional.
