The French midfielder, Aurélien Tchouaméni, was at fault for Sevilla’s consolatory goal this Sunday. While the team was celebrating the third Madrid goal scored by Rodrygo Goes, the former Monaco player neglected his defensive duties, which led to the 3-1 score.
Real Madrid would not keep a clean sheet this Sunday evening. Facing FC Sevilla at the Santiago Bernabéu in the 18th round of La Liga, Carlo Ancelotti’s team didn’t take long to score two beautiful goals. Indeed, after Kylian Mbappé’s exceptional 14th goal, Federico Valverde scored a golazo. From about thirty yards out from the Sevilla goal, the Uruguayan midfielder unleashed a powerful shot to make it 2-0 for Real in the 20th minute. In a strong spell, the Merengues struck again in the 34th minute with a magnificent goal from Rodrygo Goes.
Tchouaméni’s non-existent marking
Just after this third goal, which put Madrid in a strong position, Aurélien Tchouaméni showed that he is not a central defender by trade. Indeed, on Sevilla’s first attacking move after Rodrygo’s goal, the French midfielder failed to mark Isaac Romero, who found himself unmarked in front of Thibaut Courtois’s goal. Without hesitation, the Sevilla player pulled one back.
It must be said, a true defender would have had the necessary reflex to ensure the marking, as noted by Omar Da Fonseca, who was commenting on the match on beIN Sports.
