In a major conflict with his former club, Kylian Mbappé received a strong rejection from the LFP. While he had requested heavy sanctions against PSG, the newly-madrilenian player did not prevail.
Despite his departure from the French capital, Kylian Mbappé continues to make life difficult for his former leaders. Forced to move to Real Madrid last summer after a season marked by major clashes, the French forward is using a strong approach to recover a colossal sum of 55 million euros in unpaid salary and bonuses. While it was believed that the two parties had agreed on the terms of their separation, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who sought to secure a transfer fee from Mbappé’s move to Madrid, is blocking the 55 million.
The bad news for KM9

Believing that Mbappé himself had guaranteed that PSG would not come out at a loss by leaving Ligue 1 for free, the Parisian executives are not letting go. While the player has won some battles in court, which is compelling the Parisians to pay the remaining salaries and bonuses owed to him, Paris Saint-Germain received some good news in recent hours. Indeed, in the past few days, the Bondynois has referred the case to the LFP’s disciplinary committee to sanction his former club, which refuses to pay him his dues.
In response, this committee rejected the referral. “The LFP’s disciplinary regulations give the Disciplinary Committee the authority to impose sanctions in cases of non-execution of a decision against which no appeal has been filed. The Committee was referred to in this context by Mr Kylian MBAPPÉ, following decisions made by the Legal Committee and the Joint Appeal Committee. Paris Saint-Germain, having since filed a claim against the LFP before the Paris Judicial Court, in order to have these two decisions annulled, the Disciplinary Committee concluded that Mr Kylian MBAPPÉ’s referral was inadmissible.“
PSG urges Mbappé to calm things down

As expected, this decision by the LFP pleases the Parisian executives. In a statement relayed by Foot Mercato this Thursday, the club led by Nasser Al-Khelaifi expressed its readiness to continue the battle in court to avoid paying this large sum to Kylian Mbappé, who, according to them, is acting in bad faith. “We are very pleased that the Disciplinary Committee has decided not to sanction Paris Saint-Germain as the player had requested. By declaring his request inadmissible, the Disciplinary Committee is bringing an end to this saga that has lasted too long,” PSG initially stated.
Regretting the rejection by Mbappé’s camp of the mediation process initiated by the LFP Legal Committee to find a compromise, Luis Enrique’s team makes another plea to the Real Madrid player. “In law and in fact, the player made clear and repeated public and private commitments that the club simply asks him to honour, after benefiting from unprecedented advantages provided by the club during 7 years in Paris,” the statement continues.
“Fundamentally, this is a matter of good faith, honesty, upholding values, and respecting the Parisian institution and its supporters, which is more important than any player. After today’s decision, the club reiterates its hope that an amicable solution can be found, so that all parties can finally move on,” it concludes. In any case, the matter is far from over. We are waiting to see the reaction of Kylian Mbappé, who has just learned that his name has been subtly cleared in another dark case.
