Kylian Mbappe is at the centre of criticism at Real Madrid after his poor performance against Liverpool in the Champions League on Wednesday night. According to the tabloid Sport, the Casa Blanca club have come up with a foolproof plan to get back to his best.
Kylian Mbappe, who arrived as a galactic recruit this summer, has struggled to establish himself at Real Madrid. Constantly lined up at the front of the attack, the Bondynois is struggling to make a difference. Against Leganés last Sunday, Carlo Ancelotti lined him up in his preferred position and Mbappe came away with a goal, but it was Vinicius Jr who did all the work.
But three days later, the Frenchman failed to carry Real Madrid to Anfield against Liverpool in the absence of the injured Vinicius Jr. Not too influential in the game, Mbappe even missed a penalty that could have given Carlo Ancelotti’s team a boost. This situation completely annoyed the club’s fans, who did the Frenchman no favours at the end of the match.
While some burned Mbappé’s shirt, others came to the bitter conclusion that Real Madrid didn’t need him and will be better off without him.
Real Madrid want to recall Zidane to ‘save’ Mbappé
In a negative spiral since his arrival at Real Madrid, with 9 goals (3 penalties) and 2 assists in 18 appearances, Kylian Mbappe is facing harsh criticism in Spain. His various extra-sporting problems, notably the Sweden affair and his lawsuit against PSG, have only exacerbated the situation.
According to SPORT, Real Madrid are worried about their No9 and want to make a move to ‘save’ their star. Indeed, Florentino Perez’s club are considering recalling Zinedine Zidane to the Club to get his compatriot back on track.
Although Zidane has turned down the coaching job at Real Madrid, he could make a return to the club as a consultant, allowing him to get closer to Mbappé to help him regain his best form. According to the media, Real Madrid are big believers in Zidane after what he did for Karim Benzema in the past.
