A Few Hours After the Espanyol Barcelona vs Real Madrid Match, a Video Featuring Vinicius Junior, Dani Ceballos, and Carlo Ancelotti Goes Viral on Social Media
Real Madrid is going through a difficult period. Plagued by injuries, Carlo Ancelotti’s team also has to deal with intense situations, such as Saturday night’s trip to Catalonia for the 22nd matchday of La Liga against Espanyol Barcelona. In this tense match, where the refereeing was completely against the Madrid side, tension was palpable among the players. Back in action after serving a two-match suspension, Vinicius Junior was visibly frustrated by certain passages of play in which he was ignored by Dani Ceballos.
Vini and Carlo Ancelotti’s frustration

As shown in footage broadcast by Real Madrid’s Arabic channel, the Brazilian winger openly reproached Dani Ceballos for not passing him the ball enough, believing he was in a good position to receive it. After repeatedly expressing his frustration, Vinicius Junior turned to Carlo Ancelotti, who, in turn, urged the Spanish midfielder to involve his Brazilian teammate more. However, with his own approach to the game, Ceballos continued playing without fully taking his coach’s instructions into account.
At one point, Vinicius had to be calmed down by Lucas Vázquez, who also pointed it out to Dani Ceballos. To finally defuse the tension, Ancelotti substituted Ceballos for Luka Modric in the 80th minute. It was an unusual scene that does not necessarily indicate a serious issue between the 28-year-old midfielder and Vini.
However, given the challenging period Real Madrid is going through, seeing such images does not bode well. Right now, the team needs to be united and compact.
What is this team lacking?
Under pressure this season, Real Madrid must show great discipline to overcome these difficult moments. February brings crucial matches, and if the players fail to handle this period well, the season could take a turn for the worse. Currently, without key figures like Karim Benzema and Toni Kroos to stabilise the younger players, Carlo Ancelotti must manage the egos within his squad.
This season, concerns have already been raised about the behaviour of players such as Jude Bellingham, who have lacked composure and maturity in key moments of matches. Adding to this is the competition among the attackers, who are struggling to play together as they should, making the coach’s job even more complicated.
In any case, Ancelotti finds himself in a difficult position this season. If nothing changes and the campaign ends with disappointing results, the 65-year-old coach might not hesitate to leave the Madrid ship.
